Alvaro Covarrubias was born in Valparaiso (Chile) in 1970. He has been playing the guitar for an audience since his early childhood, performing in Chile, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and Spain. To bring his musical education to perfection he continued his studies in Sweden and in France, studying with masters like Ronny Carlsson, Raul Maldonado, Bétho Davezac and Alberto Ponce. He obtained his diplomas at the highest degrees.

Covarrubias has been invited to play as a soloist with the Kaliningrad Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (Russia), the Harnosand Symphonic Orchestra (Sweden) and with the Pierre Ménet Chamber Orchestra (France).

Alvaro Covarrubias lives in France, where he teaches at the National Conservatory of Laval and continues his concert career performing all over the world. From Chile to China he has been asked to perform for enthusiastic audiences among who was the King of Sweden.
